Dear Shooter:

Sage Pistol League is affiliated with the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA). This letter is to explain a little about USPSA and invite you to join our club and the USPSA, if you are not already a member. However, to join our club, it is not required that you be a USPSA member nor do you
have to join our club to participate in our matches. However, to reduce costs, we do notmail out flyers to non-club and USPSA members. It costs over $50.00 to mail out to our current data base of current previous shooters. This amount could go towards purchasing another target stand or popper, etc.  The most up to date information is usually posted on the Area 2 Website on the Sage Pistol League club page.

The USPSA is part of the world wide organization of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) which today boasts 78 affiliated countries. Being a member of the USPSA affords you the opportunity to become classified with the best shooters in the world! Shooting clubs affiliated with the USPSA number over 300 and may hold officially approved matches, establish member's classification levels, and earn the right to send their members to the United States National Championships (Open & Limited) as well as countless lower level Regional, State, and Sectional matches. The USPSA publishes a bi-monthly magazine, "Front Sight" with a wealth of information about our practical style of shooting as well as national and international match results. USPSA also publishes a newsletter called, "In Touch". USPSA dues are $40.00 per year with a lifetime membership available.

To become affiliated with the USPSA a club must have a minimum of 10 members all of which must be USPSA members. SPL became a USPSA affiliated club in June of 1995 and we have held monthly matches every month since then. Our participation has ranged from 15 to 103 shooters which equals other clubs
in the surrounding area. We provide a monthly newsletter (via internet) to our members as well as latest match results to all shooters of the last match. We will provide safe, exciting and fun shooting matches including shotgun and rifle. Though we are a relatively "young" organization, we are in the planning stages of providing instructions to new shooters in the USPSA style of shooting, training persons as Range Officers, score keepers and stats officers.

Through the efforts of an unfortunate small number of dedicated people, SPL has acquired approval to use our current range location (Old Boral Pit) from BLM and fashioned a shooting range that will afford many exciting and challenging matches to our members. These people have given countless hours of their time and money from their own pockets to make this club a reality. We invite you to join and participate in our growing club and enjoy some safe, fun, family shooting experiences.

These dues are used primarily to cover insurance costs of the club and proceeds from the matches are used to offset costs of the matches and purchase prizes, new equipment and improve the range facilities. We need your membership and appreciate your continued help.
